Couldn't have said it better myself. I think.

Nice Numbers! Think you could have gained more with 380s or 400s?

I don't understand why you say these things then don't put your .02$ in appropriate areas such as this:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ysprune=&f=267

If your goal is to cut into RMW's customer base, I think that's lofty and probably unrealistic.

If your goal is to start a discussion on how to best tune cars, I think people would actually appreciate that. Sure, some would attack your opinions, but others might listen. And if you present more than opinions, say possibly examples with results, then we'd really have a discussion on our hands, and we would be better for it.

But as for now, the underhanded comments are lacking in substance. So if you have it - bring it, we're watching.

definitely.

The thing about the pull on the dyno was that the car wanted more at higher rpm. As it is, we stopped at 7,100 rpm and my car revs higher than that to about 7,300. So the addition of the bigger injectors and the higher revving would put me between 225-230.

Cool SharoSCO2! For a few hundred bucks more you can show us another chart with your new injectors!

Anybody actually exceed the duty cycle and fry stock injectors during a track day?

the dyno actually measures hub torque and speed. Put in a drive ratio and you get engine torque and speed at the wheels. There is a place to put a scale factor in to adjust for losses, but that was set to 1.00, hence the software display that says "flywheel" but the data that's really wheel. Up the measured numbers by about 12% to get flywheel. The software isn't smart enough to see the scale number at 1.00 and then adjust it's display to say "wheel".

Being that the wheels bolt up to a "Dynapack" dyno this has to be good as there is no wheel slippage as with other dynos?

So there's no issue there. There are also no wheels/tires that have to be turned either. But the dyno ramps RPMs at a fixed amount per unit time. Inertial dynos rev faster proprtional to torque. So take all these items into a blender and just look at the improvement. These aren't SAE corrected for barametric pressure, temp or humidity.

You sir are a MORON. I have watched you make an absolute FOOL of yourself in various threads that bring up Jan and his tuning. As a professional you should try and put your best foot forward whenever you are dealing with the public. Yet instead you come in like a monkey slinging poop on the walls.

I'll be ignoring you from here on out.

As a 2 MINI owner, you have cemented the fact that I NEVER bring any of my vehicles to your shop. You and your immature behavior in this and other threads has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Gintani is a company I want nothing to do with.

Congrats on the power increase SharoSC02. Must be a WAY more fun car to drive now...

It's obvious....

that Gintani has a woodie for RMW. They have yet to learn that silence is best, and to let thier happy customers sell thier efforts. Till that time, the sh*t slinging will have lots of negative unintended consiquences. I was reading the thread by Johan about his Gintani build. Best way to speak is to finish the car and lets the results do the talking....

Oh well, life will go on.

question

I see you have a head installed. I would expect more from the head. 50WHP?

I am contemplating buying a head for my mini. If I can only expect 20WHP I won't do it.

I do not have allot of experience on these mini's and what is normal HP for a head install.

Please don't take offense to my comments. I am just not experienced in these motors and what they are capable of.

I currently have an 04 with JCW airbox w/amsoil filter, 15% pulley, oil can, header, borla cat back, iridium plugs, and a UNI chip.

Feels like I need another 60HP

Seems like an engine swap would be easier than trying to pump 260HP at the wheels.

What head do you have?

I just love the sound of a blower!!

With a bike like that, be careful what pants you wear.

on a motor that already make more HP/liter than a corvette motor! This isn't like taking a stock ford 5.0 and bolting on a set of really nice Edelbrock Al big valve heads.... That said, I'm not sure if you'll be getting more from a head without adding a header and ditching the stock exhaust. Remember, this is a 1.6 liter motor... And the Eaton is eating up another 30+ HP at red line.... If you really want that kind of power from a Mini, go turbo conversion. There are many that can help with that....

Thank you, it was one of the best mods/tune I have gotten so far. The power and the force of it pulling me in all gears is indescribable. I want to go out on a lim and say that this car right now feels like it can hang with larger, stronger built 6 cylinder cars.

I'm sure you are not the only one here who feels the same way about Gintani.

Jan is a very stand up guy and for him to keep talking about Jan like that is bs.

I know how I feel about Gintani and it isn't positive.

Put up or shut up!
