Drivetrain kwik lift
It can definitely be a pain to remove the wheels while having the car up on a Kwiklift, but on the other hand, it is certainly easier to get under the car to torque down suspension components with the suspension loaded. Always compromises... I tend to need to remove the wheels more often than tighten suspension bits, so looking at the scissor lifts makes me want to trade the Kwiklift for one of those (that is, until I get a garage tall enough for a two-post lift!
).
).
I have been looking at lifts for my Mini and my Subaru Outback. I did a search and found this thread. I found this lift and it looks the same as the Bend-Pack. I can get this shipped from D/FW area to my house for $150.00. It seems like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts versus Bend-Pack.
From reading the comments on this thread it appears you can change oil and transmission under these lifts. Do you guys who have one think I could get to front and rear diffs on the Subaru? I guess if nothing else I could block it up like the picture shown.
Also, are the ramps you guys have a necessity? Is the lift too high otherwise, or did you do that for convenience. It looks like a good idea and would not be too hard to build.

It's pretty versatile, especially for a FWD car (or my AWD audi as seen here)
The ramps were so I could get a lowered car over the mechanism. Depending on your car you may not need them, or maybe just a strip of 1x10 lumber.
More shots of my set-up here.. These are around $1600 delivered..

This looks like the same one. Looks like I can get it delivered for about $1350.00. By looking at it I wouldn't have thought the undercarriage would be very easy to access. With your cars shown on the lift, it looks pretty good. I think I could service oil, trans and diffys from that lift.
Keep in mind, for $1350 it's probably a Chinese clone. You get what you pay for. Shipping weight on this was over 800lbs! The Bend-paK is extremely well built. Access shots from my AWD Audi TT:

i recently saw a floor jack that has incertable stands. they are part of the jack . when the car is where you want it you pulll the jack away leaving the stand . this is awsome if you want to jack it up at the factory point s . i think it was sears .
ASE shows that Bend Pak delivered for $1635.00 as their regular price and mentions to call for their sale price. I will call them tomorrow. Even at $1635.00, if it's made in USA or is better quality, it is worth the extra $300.00
Most definitely! Mine's been in use for probably 6 years now and remains flawless in it's operation..
Yep. It's from Sears. Unfortunately, the minimum height is still taller than the jacking blocks on even a stock MINI. Cool idea, though.
damb that's too bad , really good idea too
