just traded out my original air filter for a k&n...but have 1 question:
does the filter cover pinch the edges of the filter itself between it's 2 halves?

the filter box is pinched tight at the far end, where the box hinges in back,
and up front where the screws keep everything tight...otherwise theres a slight
bulge from the filter itself half way between both points.

is that right?

please bear in mind that the last time i changed my own air filter
was some years ago on a '67 mustang. it was very easy to get at
and be assured a correct fit and finish!

Could be right, I don't really know.

Once you get to test your filter out , though, could you explain how you think your performance was affected? Was there more noticable power? Why did you buy this one rather than the Green air filter (supposing you know what it is)?

 

Anyone else have any help on this topic? I've got a K&N in the mail from the Super Selloff at minicooperparts, and I want to make sure I get it right.

I put in a Green Filter a few weeks ago and it had these little nubs on each side I needed to clip off in order to for it to fit nicely (per the instructions). With nubs, it pinched, without, fits perfectly - no pinching.
