I'd like to see a dyno comparison of a car with light mods, maybe i/e/pulley no cam, and the same car with i/e/pulley/RMW cam after install. If anyone gets one done, be sure to post up some data.

That seems to me like a moderately modded car, plus that dyno is for a RMW head, and stock cam. Not a stock head, and RMW cam. Not to mention, he doesn't even have the stock blower on anymore, and has adjustable cam timing.

Edit- sorry, didn't see that the adjustable cam gear among other things weren't added at the time of the dyno. But still, it's not a dyno comparing cams.

you are mildly confused.... that was with a stock head and pulley, cai vs my cylinder head change....

he has now changed his system since that dyno

Yes, the numbers are real (see attachment)

231.9WHP and 184FTLb Before the head I was at 193.1WHP and a peak of 172FTLB but it fell off quick. The dyno was done a week apart. the outside temp was only 3 degrees different between days. No water, no spacial fan, no ice just the same car before and then after adding the head.

All this from my new "Big Valve" head with a stock cam and the stock ECU.
Either he's alarmingly mistaken about his car's build, or I've suddenly gone blind and can't read. Wether his dyno is comparing your big valve head or not is one thing. But I don't see where he says he's comparing cams, which is what this thread is about.

I think what he wants to see is a car with a Pulley, Intake, Exhaust, and your Cam....

Precisely, but only with graphs compared before and after.

Excellent, you have light performance mods. I'm looking forward to the results.

NIST

Guess that makes two of us here that know what NIST is...
I might just have to look that up tomorrow. I was on the NIST site just today, did not see any dyno standards there, but probably wasn't looking around the right place to see it anyway.

Sorry, bit off topic, but scary seein work stuff being thrown around.

If Jan is posting before and after numbers from the same dyno under as close as possible environmental conditions, that's perfectly legit IMHO.

Jan, do you have any numbers yet with your cam and the JCW head?

See http://www.arb.ca.gov/bluebook/bb06/...0cfr92_116.htm for information on Engine output measurement system calibrations.

There is a NIST Traceable standard for Engine Dynos.

Any yeah...NIST does have an incredible lawn.

Now this is funny...

NIST Traceable voting machines!!!

http://vote.nist.gov/

Maybe couple of elections too late I suppose.

I was still unable to find anything specifically about measuring HP or TQ standards via NIST. But thinking more, I know there has to be.

On another note, I seem to remember couple months back, that in the news they were saying that the reference standard "pound" somewhere in Europe was no longer a pound!!! Seems that since it was defined as a pound, it's lost enough atoms or something to no longer be a pound. Or was it a gram? Can't remember right now.

NIST must have a standard for a nice lawn. Seriously, you have to see it.

Jan: I'm guessing you will have to dimple the Spark Plug tubes like the Schrick?

Jan,

What will be the different in term of power band character between Schrick and RMW?

I have the Schrick and would like to see more improvement (wider useable power band, may be... ), without doing anything to the head.

Please advise.

Thank you.

I should have some dyno sheets from someone soon who shows the difference between stock and this cam. But not yet on a stock head with schrick/new cam

Thank you, Jan.

Any info would be great.

Can't wait to see you again next time @ Helix.

May be....... by that time, it will be the time for Maxi to have new header and exhaust system.
