Revolution Mini Works sneak preview for Turbo Back Exhaust

We will be using stainless steel with V-band connectors at all locations!!! No leaking here! Santa is working hard Mandrel bending the pipes. Our flex joints are the highest quality and will not break. Wire spun high flow cats are standard. Everything is manufactured here in the Good Ol USA as is our policy!

These pictures were of the hand fabbed prototype. All connections will have Marmen flanges and V-band connectors

There will be two exhaust available with different sounds. The one tested sounded very good. A much different sound than the R53 cars. More pictures will be coming in the next few weeks as we are getting them ready for sale.
Pricing coming soon!

Well that definitely sounds good! Any idea on when you'll have dyno plots or at least estimated gains??? Also what inch piping/tips (if the two are different) are you going with?
THANKS

2.5" as 3 is too much for this little turbo... the gains up top aren't worth the low end response loss

we should have the dyno plots up soon... waiting to get the car back

Yea, I've heard that exact same thing before. Not necessarily relating to your exhaust, but what's the OEM diameter and is the JCW stage 1 any larger? I know the JCW tips are but not sure about the actual pipes...

Looking forward to the plots as well as pics when they're ready.

the factory is a European size, something like 2.25-2.38 area

from what I saw on a JCW car here it looked like they only changed out the muffler

That's what I thought. Thank you very much for the multiple clarifications!
I'll be looking forward to more info as it's made available.

Actually one last question, I promise. I know you said the exhaust will be made available 'in the next few weeks'. Any rough estimates on when they'll ship out? My current plan is to have someone's turbo back on by the first week in February...

we have close relations with Magnaflow and these are from their performance division. We will be tesing others shortly as we have mulitple suppliers contacting us to use their mufflers. All of our stuff is using V-bands so changing out mufflers is a piece of cake

looking forward to some sound clips..
I love the bolt-together clean finish of the alta setup, but it's far too quiet & the borla sounds & looks great, but doesn't offer a bolt-together downpipe option.

something combining the two would be awesome, our mini's on the ship now & wheels & exhaust are the first two mods planned.

I'm really surprised you find the ALTA setup so quiet. Granted the cat-back is pretty tame but the full turbo back exhaust has a very mean sound to it, especially when you really get on it!

That said ALTA is my first choice right now for an exhaust, but I'm really happy to be presented with another option. Especially given the whole debate about if their 3" piping is worth it, RVM will definitely be on my radar until their exhaust is released.

Looking fun Jan! A data point for you: I ran a Dynatech cat on my R56 and the downstream O2 was pleased; no codes.

Question regarding acoustics; are you running both a center resonator and rear muffler? I found my custom R56 exhaust, which had only a downpipe catalytic converter and a big rear muffler to have excellent tonal quality, but droned madly at part throttle around 3k and also on engine braking all through the range. A center resonator would help to smooth the frequency response greatly.

Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Ryan

P.S. I had my dad drive my MINI after you tuned it; he couldn't stop giggling like a little schoolgirl he had so much fun!

thanks Ryan,
we didn't use a resonator on the first car and it sounded great but might be a little loud for the masses
we are going to run a hushpower on the next one to check it out as it sounds great on the R53 cars
