This set of comments has turned out to be Much Adeiu About Nothing. While each of us have the right to express ourselves we must temper our feelings. I have found that we can now get equal pricing our of ALTA. I think that Adam is owed an apology on being slammed and lauded for offering equal pricing.

Sorry Adam.

I'm going to have to look up what lauded means, though. I'm not sure that's legal in Oregon.

What brought up the subject of banning was not his opinion of business practices, but his referring to Hillsboro as "Hillsburrito".

after watching a good amount of presidential debates over the past months, i find that Adam from Alta is pretty much the most diplomatic, dedicated, patient, and prospective candidate for '08.

I agree to a point...he is definitely entitled to his opinion and really shouldn't be banned, but the racist (at least I interpreted it that way) comment was a bit too much and unnecessary to make his point.

I apologize for insinuating that Matty125 should be banned. I only meant that we should all take note of the comment and pay attention in the future. Things can escalate rapidly and we don’t want that. I never did see any sort of apology though.

Banning is a bit extreme, but there's no need for racism to express a point. Let's all play nicey nice

I for one will give a "do-over" to Matty125 and forget it ever happened. I'm a pretty forgiving guy 'Tis the season!

Refering to someones race by the food they eat is by no stretch of the imagination "Racisim" Most cultures embrace their culinary dishes. I think you are making something out of nothing. There are far worse words to describe someones race and I will agree they have no place here.

Hmm, as stated many times earlier ALTA makes the best stuff. Telling the manufacture this anymore than we already do accomplishes nothing. My issue and this is a repeat, is the fact I felt definetly taken advantage of after making several severely blundered purchases from ALTA and the quality service was not anything close to what others on here obviously come to expect. Not only did I pay so much more, but shipping was very outrageous. Wrong stuff shipped, and this so called customer service was truely nonexistant. Everytime I have ordered something from them they sent the wrong stuff, or simply did not mail it at all. Everytime they misshipped I had to pay the costs for their mistake, nice customer service. Its VERY frustrating when you tear apart half your car thinking for some reason the Company sent you the right parts, only to find too late the junk is completely wrong. This issue is a bit more severe for people geograpically located like me. To wait 4 months just to get the right stuff is wrong.
The entire post was not just about shipping issues. My point was that for some select groups of us there are much better speed shop alternatives. Silly me to think on a forum like this we would share great ideas or useful knowledge found through research. The original post was corrected, take it for what it is, a correction of a poorily worded phrase excuse me.

What is unusual about a manufacturer charging MSRP for a product when you buy it direct?

I'm surprised Alta said they'd price match their distributors. It's kinda like competeing against yourself.

I read a couple of sentences and I came to my conclusion.... matty125, you're an idiot. Do us all a favor and don't post anymore.

Now I'm confused. There's three parts in the original posters profile that may be from Alta, the intake, short shifter, and exhaust. The original post said you wound up going through another place to order the exhaust so you could have had two parts shipped to you from Alta directly and, both times you had bad experiences. Well, if you can get a cheaper part with better customer service from a smaller shop, then do it. Your posts come off as crying about a bunch of nothing, mistakes happen, from what I can determine from your posts you had one item lost in the mail (probably the intake) and one item sent as the wrong part (probably the short shifter since it's the only one that would require "dissassembling the whole car". How did you have to "pay the cost of their mistakes"? Did you keep ordering the same part multiple times?
Mistakes happen, especially in the APO system (which is part of the reason I'm sitting here on Christmas Eve and only 3/4 of the boxes of presents sent go to their destinations on time). There's better ways of dealing with their problems and having unreasonable expectations (like quick shipping of large items through APO) is only going to result in heartbreak. There's plenty of shops in Europe that work with MINI's that could work with you as well but you insist on having parts sent around the world, which you're entitled to do. But realize the results of your actions is an increased likelihood of problems and increased difficulty in resolving these issues.
