Boost, Oil Gauge

Has anyone installed a boost and oil gauge yet? Im sure a few of you have, but what I wanna know is, can someone do a write up on how-to-install the boost, oil gauge? And what's the difference between electrical and mechanical? And pics of the install and set up.

Just in time - I've been working on this, well at least the oil pressure, oil temp and water temp, for weeks now. Go here - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=111252
and read. No one else seemed to be working on it and we're way into this model year, as the '07 is so different with the french engine in it. I've almost got it working with little help on where the original sending units are on the engine. The computer looks for the signal of the original so they can't be removed. When finished I'll have the suppliers of parts and part numbers, plus pics.

How difficult are they to install? I am specifically looking at the boost and temperature gauges. Do they pick up the readout from the electronics in the car?

Thanks for asking folks!

Howard is NOT easy to part with, but I had a birdie call me to say my Clubman is not only built, but on the way! As a result I need to clear something out of stock. (I still have three other MINI's including a GP so don't fret yet!)

The gauges are actually very easy and straightforward to mount and wire. The instructions that will be included, will show each wire to pair to, the route to run the wires, sensor mounting etc. etc.

You may want to look at the R53 version HERE for some basic information. The instructions will be similar for the R56.

If I can help in anyway further PLEASE let me know!

This set-up will match the colors on the R56? White display daytime and red at night? Do we have to breach the firewall (you posted some weeks/months ago this setup would not breach the firewall, but on the instructions for the R53 work is required in the engine compartment)? When can we order?

And just so everyone is clear, the Alta setup is fully electronic......so you only have electronic wires going from the sensors to the gauges....no actual boost lines or oil lines going into the cabin!

If you want to be put on the list, just e-mail me adam@altaminiperformance.com your contact information and the gauges you might want. Then I will call you with the remaining details!

The only thing traversing the firewall is the electrical cords through an existing nipple.

Thanks again!
