Would a flex hose patch do the trick?

Um. What's that?

I'll get some detailed pics up.

Something like this:

There are a bunch of different companies that make all kinds of flexible hoses.

Could you use it to patch your factory cold air tubing to the box? Not sure if it would solve your problem, just an idea.

I certainly could. But I dunno if it would fit... And I dunno if they make one that would fit the connection.

Edit: Nope. Sure can't. Won't fit anywhere. The pipe takes up the space. Guess I'll have to seal up the holes... Sigh.

You could fabricate a tube on the front of your box to attach the cold air inlet to! Something with a plate at the base. You could probably find something in the HVAC section of your local hardware store.

Something like this:

Sorry for the cheesy 3D I don't have my good 3D program at home…

No apologies, please.

You mean to go around the intake tube, in order to form a more snug fit than the current square-ish cut-out? That could be pretty cool. What would it be made of? And how would I attach the cylinder piece to the plate with the circle cut-out?

I was thinking of it as a way to attach the front factory cold air intake. You may be able to snake some flexible hose around to attach.

I was thinking something like this…

Probably the best way to seal around the intake tube would be with a universal gasket.

But I'm also just tossing around ideas… It will be cool to see what solutions you come up with.

Well hmm... That looks a little improbable, when you look at my engine bay. I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow. I'm at work right now.
