I am doing my initial research into doing a pulley reduction. I was wondering if anyone is renting out the tool or have a borrow program. I am in Flagstaff AZ and I will be doing the job myself.

Also is a belt tensioning tool needed....I am seeing some say that it makes the job 1000 times easier and some say that it is not too much of a hassle to do it without it. If most think it is necessary, same question applies....anyone renting/loaning the tool?

I made the investment and bought one. It comes in handy, for fighting off hobos and replacing the belt when oil gets at it.

 

Chck with your local mini club - we have a tool and host "garage days" where we do installs and such... but we're in Pittsburgh...
