So did the Quicksilver have to be modded for you to keep the 2nd cat or is that the way it comes? Glad you like it, mines way too quite.

I do have the Alta exhaust coming tomorrow, I'll let you know how I like it.

Yes, in order to keep the OEM cats, I had to cut only one section of the Quicksilver exhaust piping and connect it behind the 2nd cat. I don't think there is any system available yet that allows you to keep the 2nd OEM cat. It took roughly 30 minutes for them to do the leisurely install while I took pics.

Do you have an R53 or R56? I had both an Alta and Quicksilver in my R53 and prefer the Quicksilver since it didn't drone. If you don't mind highway drone, you will probably like the Alta. I have to say I like the tone of the R56 Quicksilver over any of my previous exhausts, its quiet while cruising and sounds like a jet during WOT.

OasisT: Glad everything worked out! It is VERY frustrating that our emmisions laws require that second cat in the States vs. other places in the world. Thankfully HUGE gains are still possible after the cats. Good luck in your racing ventures and as always kepe me posted! Look forward to the results!

Thanks guys!

and gals!

I had a Magnaflow exhaust on my '03 and the drone was terrible. The tone of the exhaust was deep and I thought it sounded great. Biggest problem was not being able to talk on your cellphone during highway cruising it was so loud. Have you ever heard the Magnaflow? If so, how does the drone on the Alta compare?

We would LOVE to hear a sound clip of your Quicksilver

CUtiger3: I was surprised by the drone comment earlier on our R53 system. If I ever get a complaint it is that it is quieter than people sometimes want, but never regarding a drone. I would like to know more. BUT, I can assure you that on the R56 no drone PERIOD. (clips coming soon just been REALLY busy) I had the MagnaFlow and Borla on my 02 MCS and THEY both droned so bad they about drove you nuts! ALTA does not do that.

Thanks folks!

No drone on the R56 is VERY GOOD news. My wife has veto power on anything that sounds like our previous Magnaflow

I thought it was a bit odd, I loved the Alta on my R53 on my 04MCS, but, on the 05 MCS it droned quite a bit on highway usage. Maybe I had a bad component. Who knows.
