Drivetrain Alta Air Diverter issue
Alta Air Diverter issue
I installed the air diverter last weekend and below are a few issues that have come up with so far.
1. The supplied Red hoses were a pain in the A** to get on.
2. This week I notice a weird sound, the car idling higher than normal and then dropping only to go back up. and the SES light comes on.
3. I look underneath the hood and find the noise coming from the left intercooler hose.
4. Come to find out, one torx screw from each clamp on the left side had stripped out.
Has anyone had this same issue. How can I make sure this won't happen when I put the new clamps and screws back on or should I just go back to the stock rubber boots.

I guess you didnt torque to 7 foot pounds did you? I have heard of people having problems with them, but if you take your time installing them with no rips they seat just fine and I would say they improve throttle response.
p.s. I got black if color makes any difference between rubber.

Diverter Hoses...
I had the same problem, alot of time was spent hand-stretching them to make them more pliable for fitting. It's been a year since the install, but I do remember putting the driver side hose on first, using an o-ring pick to carefully guide the hose on.The other side went on easier,if you want to use the verb "easy".And I was very careful about re-tightening the clamp bolts!Again, massaging the hoses and using the o-ring pick was the only way I could ever get those hoses on!

Get the M7 boots instead. They are far superior to the Alta ones (I've had both). Seriously, one set always gives trouble, the other set never gives trouble, and that's from a lot of data points...
oil in the ic (before OCC) made it easier to take off, but the OG install was the beggest PITA I have EVER delt with! If I would have thought to use a TINY amount of oil, (it would have been a min install) no, it took like 45 mins! now it's 5 mins.
I bought one used mostly for the sprayer part.

Only time it makes a difference is when its hot outside or hot inside the engine bay. So it doesn't give you anymore hp/tq it just lets you keep more of it when its hot.
