Ok another silly question the lug bolts were put on with an impact wrench so they all check out at 90 lbs, but how do I know they are not over 90? Should I back them off and retighten to 90 I think that makes sense.
I belive the correct torque is 86 ft lbs according to the workshop manual.
yes, loosen and re torque..
More is not always better..
I've only finished one day so far but there are too many cars in the group, the first 2 runs out we only got a total of 2 hot laps because of cars breaking or down going off track. People pass with out being signaled by, break going down the hill, won't let you pass. Also you only get 3 runs a day 2 of 20 minutes and 1 of 25 minutes, at the other schools you get twice the track time with a lot less people. I don't think I'll do another NASA school they seems to be good people just to many people.
Ok this weekend it's off to Barbers with PBOC. This time I have an instructor that drives a MINI and my ECU will be back from LDG tomorrow, then a weekend off I wash and give the MINI a couple of days off before a track day at Talladega Grand Prix track April 9th. Have to find something for May. It's supposed to be 89 on Sat.
roach: i'm sure that you will enjoy having victor as your instructor. he has been on the track w/ his MINI for years and knows it well. ask him for a ride-along in one of his sessions. he is precise, quick and fearless.....have fun...
Off to Barbers, the LDG tune really makes a large difference feels like there lot's more HP than with the Unichip will find out Monday when I get it dyno'd.
School over went great. As I was leaving one of the guys I was parked with driving a 996 or 997 as me how much it cost to have such a fast MINI, said he just could not keep up in the corners and Barbers is mostly corners. I had great time, cars in one piece drove the whole time with the DSC off ... great little track toy.
