Hey Blake, it was good having another mini there yesterday, even though I couldn't keep up with you.

Anyone who hasn't tried Thunderhill should definitely go. Other than Laguna Seca, I haven't found a better one.

Hey man!

Nice meeting you bro. I was the guy in the silver 330ci, number 311. I am running that upcoming track day in July...

Your ride is pretty sweet man!

Oh you havent run ifineon yet have you? (formerly known as Sears Point).. That is BY FAR the best track I have ever been to. It is simply unparalleled if you ask me. I kind of think as Thunderhill as a semi-podunk track. I enjoy it, but it just seems like it isnt maticulously designed, whereas Sears Point is so technical and so well engineered. Its amazing.

You are right, I haven't been to Infineon yet. I can't seem to find anyone that is running there in the next few months for under $300.

I'll be at Thunderhill on 7/21 (Friday) with NASA.

Think one other NAM fellow will be there on Friday.

Seven (20) minute track sessions.

Kind of a long ways off, but NASA at Infineon on September 9 and 10. $149.
This sells out real quick.
I'll be there both days.

NASA weekend days are very cheap, but you get hardly any track time, and it tends to be a bit of a mad chaotic weekend. But you also get to watch racing.

I personally don't drive these, I just feel like there are too many cars on track, too little track time, and too much testosterone in the air. I have seen way too many sessions black flagged because of wadded cars into walls to make me comfortable enough to drive at these events any more.

But once again, it is about the cheapest you will EVER be able to drive at Sears Point.

I completely agree. Most other organizations charge $230+ for one day. NASA is almost always around $150 (Laguna Seca excluded).

Typically 4 sessions x 20 minutes each, so it's about average I would say. But yes, it can be quite chaotic as there is also a bunch of race groups that are actually racing during the day.

NASA has gotten to be like this in the last few years as they have soared in popularity. Group 3 and 4 is basically wheel to wheel racing, except it's not really a race. Group 1 and 2 is still reasonable, as the passing rules are stricter, but it's still a crowded group and NASA does not seem to enforce passing rules very much.

Its usually first come, first serve.
That covered paddock is indeed a blessing, next to the air conditioned class room.

Thunderhill also has garages for rent (check my gallery for pics inside the garage).
The garages are not cheap, but you can split the cost with others.
2 to 3 MINIs can fit inside there.
Bring along a large electric fan or two, it can get up to 100 °f at Willows.

TH is really getting nice. If they added 2 more covered areas to accomidate most people on HPDE days, it would be perfect. Ill need to split a garage with you kmickey next time we are at the same event...I bet we could get Sid in too.
