Hankook R-S3 tire pressure on track?

After destroying the runflats after 3 track days, i ordered a set of hankook rs3 which should arrive today.

Just wanna see what the sweetspot hot tire pressure is for the mini.
I've run many R tires on BMWs, but first time running the rs3, and still new to the mini world.

BMW folks like the hot pressure between 36-38. Read online that mini folks like the rear tires to be 3-5psi higher than front.

What are some of your experiences with this tire? Heading to the track tomorrow.

Thanks
Franklin

On the track for 17" rims, you want hot tire pressures to be near optimal grip and you start the cold pressures to get you to the hot pressures. Since I have not tried the hankooks, I could only guess that you want the hot pressures near 42-44 psi or so. You adjust your psi from there. Generally you gain about 8-12 psi during a session, and potentially much more if you push the tires.

Sorry, this is only a guess. I run rcomps that I start at 30 psi or so.

I would not run 38 psi to start on the track. You can potentially run over the highest allowable psi at the end of the session which is dangerous.

38 cold is WAY too high--you'll have little/no grip and fry those tires in a day. I have 15" RE11s and just did 2 days @ WGI...started out 34 cold all around and ended up with 44 hot front and 40 hot rear--car stuck great and rolled over right to where they should be. Car has stock suspension.

Well, started at 32f/33r cold, started pretty decent and it got squirly towards the end. Hot psi was over 40. I dropped it to 38 and the car was pretty consisitent and the hot psi actually stayed at 38. Its not a R tire, but its pretty darn close. I am impressed with this tire!
