If you get there early please try to claim a good level spot for at least 4 mini's, 2 EZ UP's, F350 Dually Pickemup and a trailer. Be nice to dump off the trailer and leave the Mini's overnight if possible. They do have a secure area I gather?
i hope to get there early enough on friday to get registered and teched. i haven't really worked out the logistics yet. it is cool, however, to have the MINI's paddocked together. makes a little statement....no one has ever told me "that's a cute little car" while at the track.
I am the other MINI from St. Louis. Hyper Blue and Black.
I plan on leaving Friday about 7 am, which should put me in to Atlanta by 5-5:30 EST. I hope to hit the registration before it closes.
Where is everyine staying? The Comfort Inn seems to be a popular choice.

I'm looking forward to everything except the long drive over and back from Texas. In the end, though, I'm sure it will be worth it.
There is a full page Skip Barber ad in this weeks Autoweek about their school at Road Atlanta. They refer to it as "Universally regarded as one of America's best racing and driving facilities. Beautiful, challenging, historic and justifiably famous." The ad is printed over a full page picture of the 'esses'.
How could a track junkie NOT be hyped about driving RA?

It sounds like there will be 5 MINIs. Make sure there is enough room to park with room to work around the cars, a place for everyone's stuff. I will have my EZ-Up tent with me as well. I am hoping to be there Friday between 4:30 -5:00.
it looks as if most of us that are travelling a long way have the same plan....i, too, will arrive friday pm in time for early registration. of course i'll have my ez-up and as much gear as i can fit. i usually have buddies that trailer their cars and gladly accept my overflow. better planning is required this time. can't wait to see you all there.
Mostly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 90s.
Better then the North Texas Amazon weather. 1-2" per per day every day for the foresable future. Highs in the upper 80's.
Looks like we'll be putting on pontoons to get out of TX.

Since i'll be at VIR this weekend i thought i'd give you RA folks one bit of advice. Road Atlanta is almost all paved blacktop. There are two good spots that have grass and maybe even a little shade. Usually the instructors get them on Friday. If you have some folks getting there early enough Friday you might be able to get one.
There's one by the the gas pumps and another by the bathrooms.
Good Luck!

Change in plans.
We are leaving Thursday afternoon. The closer to noon the better. Our plan is to drive straight through. If we arrive at the track and the gates are still open we'll drop the trailer Thurday night and head to the cabin. Otherwise we'll try and get to the track early on Fri to scope out some quality real estate. My phone is email capable gnat at freedenberg dot net Mozzarella has my # as well.
I'd better get to packing...

sorry guys, but i had to cancel at the last minute. too far behind on too many projects. when i rehearsed the "i'll be gone for a few days" speech that i was preparing for my clients, it didn't sound too convincing.....i hate it when work gets in the way of a good time. drive fast and be safe.
