I am going to a one day school at the performance center in Greer, SC on Sunday June 11th. It is being put on by the Sandlapper Chapter of the BMWCCA. Is anyone else going?

I don't know how many they are letting in. You do have to be a memeber of that club chapter. BMW's and MINI's only. I'm afraid i'll be the only MINI there.

It is being billed as a long long auto cross. I'm told it will use their entire track. I've been on it a few times but usually it's broken up into at least three tracks. And I've always been in a one of their BMW's. Please come even if you just want to watch my MINI spank some good ole baverian butt.

 

Well i didn't do as well as i'd hoped. one of my buddies beat me out and some other hooligan i don't know. out of the 44 or so participants I came in third. One of my car club friends spanked me by almost two seconds. His car is an oh so pimped out Z3 coupe with the 2.8 liter engine. The car that came in second was an E46 M3 comp. Silly fast. I came in third with a consistent 1:09 5 of my 6 runs.

The guy that runs the performance center beat us all in a new M5 and MZ4. He does have the home court advantage so we're not gonna count him. His times were 1.5-2.0 seconds faster.

There was one other MINI there but it was 100% stock. He was pulling down about 1:18

On a side note, my brother let me drive his 88 325is and i got a 1:13. I've never driven a rear drive car on the track.
