Colorado State Patrol:: Take it to the Track (Video)

Running at the CSP "Take it to the Track" in Denver

best run was 16.0 @ 89MPH

Really makes me want to see what the R53 will run at sea level now, anyone have an idea of how to estimate how this will compare to a sea level run? I've been to a drag strip in the past unmodded and pulled in better times.

For those interesed keep an eye on the patrol website, it starts up again in the end of April.

Any reason that you are staying on the gas for that long past the 1/4 mile beams?

I haven't used this, but it looks like it could give you a conversion based on weather and density altitude...

On 3 of the runs, I was concerned about putting a clear distance between me and the other vehicle before the turn off, there was very little going on as far as racer communication, next to nothing compared to the road course situations I'm used to. But I suppose that is to be expected with an anyone welcome, yet no guidance given setup. (I also did push it so I was the 90 a few times before braking once I was comfortable with the excessive (and inclined run off area).

Went and found a calculator that didn't require a subscription, and here's where it ball parked me. (something like this I would say is only ever an estimation, I expect actual running to be different, much as the difference in estimating WHP and BHP on an assumed conversion factor)

16.090 @ 89.6
became
15.423 @ 92.884 MPH

Which is significant improvement from my 16.121 @ 87.43 in my one other drag experience with a much less modded MINI a few year ago.

The track scale put the MINI's weight with less than 1/4 tank of gas at 2935lbs, which was dramatically higher than I expected to see, even factoring in my 220lbs.
