Detailing @ Dragon

Anybody "setting up shop" at MINIs on the Dragon to offer detailing services for our cars?

Never fear...

Prima Car Care (although with Detailers Paradise and 2 of our newest retailers... Coopersport.ca & Show Car Detailing/OctaneGuy) will be there to help you keep your MINI clean during the Dragon.

We're still working out the details, but as it stands now we will have a car wash area (complete with buckets, soap, mitts and a few sample/demo sprays and such), a demonstration area, and a retail area.

Please note that the car wash area will be B.Y.O.T.! In other words, Bring (or Buy) Your Own Towel. Other than towels, we will have all the basics of what you will need to wash your car.

I don't know about you guys but when I'm on the Dragon doing my thing, the last thing I want to do is detail someone elses car. I stay in Tellico Plains Tennesse and they have a quarter carwash as well as a touch-free wash at the Exxon station. I usually stay there for 4 days total and wash my car 3-4 times when I'm there an end up using an entire 32 oz bottle of wheel cleaner too

I've never been called a "goodie" before.

Yep, I'll be out there. I'll be bringing my tools, and a very small subset of my polishing equipment. Probably a quart of M80, some pads, my power tools, and of course my Special Gel, and I'll let Heather bring the Prima....LOL. JK. I'll pack that as well. Would definitely help if everyone bought microfibers--that way I wouldn't have to transport them either.

I'm afraid it'll just be me... Nick has to stay in Denver to hold down the fort. It's too bad too. He is the true master.

Either way, please do stop by! I look very forward to meeting NAMers in person.

It really is going to be fun meeting so many of you guys in person!

Keep in mind that if you have anything you want me to look at (condition of your paint, strange spot that won't go away, etc), please bring your MINI over to me. I'm happy to take a look and give you my 2-cents.

As we (Prima) won't be bringing everything in the line, I thought it would be helpful for you all to know what products/items we'll have for sale at the Dragon:

Slick
Hydro
Clarity
Nero
Epic
Mystique
Wheel Shield
Microfiber Glass Cloths
Monster Fluffies
Waffle-Weave Drying Towels

Although we will have more of some and less of others, overall we will have everything in limited quantities only (too hard to schlep lots of stuff back if we don't sell it all! ). So, first come, first serve!

Last, remember that the car wash area will be B.Y.O.T. (bring or buy your own towel). We'll have everything else you'll need to wash your car.

See many of you very soon!

-Heather

Will the car wash area be in the same place as last year? There has been mention of no parking at or around the rec center this year & I was just wondering

Bummer for those of us who can only come on Sat.
I have mixed thoughts, I want you to sell a lot so your business does well, but I want product for ME when I get there.

Oh well, I can always pay shipping.

Most likely it will be in a different place than last year. Mark is still working out the location with Fontana. The area they are targeting for the car wash has room for parking... if I'm understanding it correctly from Mark. At the least, there will be room for cars to come in and out of the area for washing, etc.

Once I find out for sure where it will be, I'll let you know!

I'm hoping that there will still be stuff left on Saturday too. It's a tough call for me on how much to bring... I have no idea how much people will want to buy! I'm trying to bring enough so that it will last into Saturday yet we'll be sold out by the end of the day. Hmm... a fine line to be sure.

What about shipping a box of products and leaving it unopened. If you need it, use it, but if not, just ship it to me! (Or back to DP )

Hate to be ignorant, but I heard of a spray for th stock rims that when sprayed on, let sit for a while, and then sprayed off left the wheels looking like they had been waxed. Would like to have a bottle of that if available or some other suggestions. See you all there. I actually leave Winston03 dirty so that everyone will know that I have been Motoring On.

I'm not familiar with a spray product like you're describing. Prima Wheel Shield (which I'll be bringing) is similar to what you're describing although it's not a spray. You rub it on then wipe it right off. It contains cleaners and a durable polymer wax which makes the wheels much easier to clean.

Are you talking about a wheel cleaner that removes brake dust? These are usually recommended for OEM rims that are clear or powdercoated. I don't know about it looking like being waxed--but there are products like Meguiar's Wheel Brightener where you spray it on, then rinse it off with a hose, and it makes your wheels look brand new again without having to brush it.

I understand and hope you have a great time reguardless. I appreciate all of the advice you give and will stop by as long as you are there, even if there are no products to buy.

Looking forward to saying hello and of course I will really enjoy learning more about how I can take top notch care of my GP in all regards! We "hit the road" tomorrow (Friday the 27th) and arrive early (Sunday the 29th) for a fun filled week of MINI camaraderie (yes, I had to look up how to spell that word!).
