be careful with Rejex. Works good on the wheels but on paint it attracts a lot of dust. Much better to do just a normal Zaino or wax

Riight, I wax my car *ONLY* for protection... nevermind the shine, oohs and ahhhs, and keeping my car detailed.

Just thought it was pretty funny... ... Then again, I dont know any NON MINI owners who detail their cars as much as we do...
I actually like Rachel Ray - her 30 minute meals come in handy when I have to do the cooking. Maybe she can branch out and come up with 30 minute detailing

Seems the guy was talking about ways to save time doing useless things. He had talked to an automotive paint chemist, and that person said there was no need to put anything on modern clear coats to protect the paint.

I wax my MINI because I like too.

If I really wanted to save time by omitting useless things from my life the first step would be to stop watching Rachel Ray's horrible talk show.

I'd omit useless things like brushing my teeth and getting haircuts before I stopped waxing my MINI.

Sorry about the double post earlier. The lead in the water makes me repeat things. The lead in the water makes me repeat things.

You should get out more....most sports cars and sport compacts have thousands of owners that detail as much (if not more).

I hope that helps!

Never, ever, ever, never use the name "Julia Child" and "waxing" in the same sentence again on this forum. This is gonna set me back years in therapy.

I'm sure there are many out there, I should get out more.

I usually have the cleanest car I see when I am out and about, my neighbors think I'm nuts, and I dont even take care of my MINI as much as I should...

anathema - You missed a fun icicle rally yesterday. I washed and Hydro'd my MINI only to have it trashed within the first few miles. But it looked really good for a while. Rachel Ray would have been all over me if she had seen it!

I make it a rule to never take advice from anyone that, when they smile, look like they have a coat hanger stuck in their mouth... I just don't trust it.

BUT... let's not forget that Miagi gave Daniel a SINGLE BUCKET to wash his filthy cars!!! So, right off the bat, his judgement is in question. He's the shiznit when it comes to karate, I give him fair props, but washing cars?

...

OK, it IS sad that I saw that movie again last week, and the first thing I thought when he gives the kid the bucket was:

"What? Only one bucket? And no fleece shammie? And that towel does NOT look like microfiber! And Daniel's CERTAINLY not letting that wax cure properly - it's gonna wear off in no time! Poor, poor classic cars!!"

I need help. Professional help.

I happened to catch the segment, eVal, and when they showed the audience, it was actually just about equally divided between the sexes!

I just KNEW someone here on NAM would post a new thread about the fellow's waxing comment. I giggled out loud!

She looks fine to me, too, Earl. I guess people are so used to seeing high fashion models with ZERO body fat and thighs the size of scrawny arms, that a curvy cutie-pie like Rachael looks "big" to them.....
