Leatherette scratches

I have had my MINI for about a week now and I have these scratch, scuff kinda things on the door side of both front seats from getting in and out, what are some things I could do to help this other than losing some weight. Its seems that it is very dry causing this, and Ideas of how to slow down the prossecess

Thought it would be best to put it here since yall seem to know how to take of your baby

Do you wear jeans with rivets often? I guess aside from buying other pants, you could try to do less sliding on the way out. It's kind of hard to "condition" leatherette like you can with leather to moisten it, but keeping it clean and protected with some good products will go a long way.

Use Vinylex by Lexol to clean, treat and restore your leatherette.

I second the Vinylex, altough i use it on tires and trim outside the car. Inside I use the Pinnacle line.

As for the weight loss option, if I remember correctly, your "profession" isn't conducive to being too frail...

If it makes you feel any better I'm slim and have these exact same scratches on the driver's side of my 4-week old MINI. I thought it was the zipper on my jacket, but maybe it is the jeans rivets since I wear jeans most of the time. UGHH. wish I could get them out.

hey kenchan... is the nero slippery it all? Heather mentioned that it isn't as slippery as the 303, but a bit slippery. just curious from a user.

Wow that sucks My Mini is almost 2 years old & I wear jeans practically every day & my seat looks like new plus my 65LB dog rides in the passenger seat, claws-n-all, 4 days a week & his seat looks like new too. I use 303 Aerospace protectant to clean & protect every now & then & treat the seats with leather wipes a few times a year.

sort of if you don't dry wipe it after application, but even if you don't
give it a few days and the squeakyness (not slipperyness) will go away.

One thing might be (I noticed this myself) if you are sort of short (I'm 5'4), and drive with the seat pulled up, it helps to release the seat all the way back before getting in and out. I was noticing a weird crease in my leatherette on the door side and I started doing this and the crease hasn't gotten any worse.
