Best way to remove Road Paint?

Alright,

I've noticed on the lower passenger side of my front bumper that there's white road paint. (I was on a 9 state road trip) I have a AB so as you can tell I'm concerned enough for me to be wondering what's the best course of action to remove it.

Being in Chicago, the temps are falling, but I do have access to a heated garage with water, drainage and such...

I'll try to snap a picture or two today and post back up here.

Thanks in advance!

Paul

I refuse to work Sundays, so no. Seriously, For as many ops there are, all it takes is one for people to notice and want to re-invent the wheel.

Yep agreed. Clay is the safest way of doing it.

So we know clay is the best way to remove it from a painted surface.
How about roadpaint on my front lower plastic bits?

I'd probably try the simple green that I use on my engine, I've had bad experiances with goof off find its way to pain and taking it up on noon automotive applications so its a bit too heavy duty for my tastes

Paulr also mentioned a tar remover at the CMMC meet today, Stoner was the company, the product name escapes me now though...

On the lower plastic bits? Worst case: replace 'em. All of the plastic trim around the car is inexpensive... the most expensive wheel arch is near $30. Give the products you have in your garage a shot and if they don't work, call your parts desk and see what it would take to order a new one.

To help them out, use www.realoem.com to find the part number... just to make sure you can explain exactly what part you need.

That's what I am looking to do. I clayed for the better part of 2 hours yesterday working to get white paint off my AB. I didn't realize how much was on the passenger side until I washed her. Lower bumper, bonnet, passenger side windshield, side mirror, door, passenger side door...like someone took a fine mist spray.

Yeah, so I'm a little slow on the draw!!

Yes, clay it is. I call clay my "1st Aid Kit" because it has so many great problem solving uses.

If you haven't ordered yet, make sure to ID yourself as a NAMer in the order notes... if we know you're a NAMer, we often have something on hand to throw into the box as a freebie or trial.

Happy claying!

-Heather
