Hand Wash Only Sticker

I just saw the pic of the Hand Wash Only warning stickers on the new GP MINIs:

(Not my shot...thanks J/C)

So of course my question is, where can us detailing nerds get one of those for ourselves?

Very interesting... is that decal placed there by the manufacturer (by MINI?)

If so, there must be some other reason (other than potential swirl marks!) for them to put it there...some mechanically-related reason why a GP cannot go through a car wash, correct???

Probably because a mechanical car wash would tear the wing off?

Yes, because the GP wing is just stuck on with adhesives! Same with the JCW wing I believe.

At the Dallas stop for MTTS, the 2 local dealerships sponsored a car wash (drive-thru automated) and I helped to organize a fluid/tire pressure check station.

At the car wash, they were very careful to check the ride-height of the cars and the addition of after-market side sills. Most pull-thru places down here have a rail system that guides the left-hand tires through the wash and I think that there was concern that the side-sills would catch on the rail.

The spoiler is also a good thought, but the employees at the wash were primarily concerned with the height and side sills.

Me want. Last time I had my car in, the dealer's guys "washed" the car for me. I think they used either chocolate milk or mud, or pehaps a combination of the two... the damn car was dirtier AFTER then when I brought it in.

eh, i think I prefer an automatic touchless over a dealer handwash anyday, so I dont think the sticker will help.

My way

Although my Mini has only been to the dealer once, I made a sign and hung it on the mirror which in big red letters states "DO NOT WASH CAR, please!.

The service rep smiled and said he understood. When I picked the car up he was quick to point out the car was not touched by dealer water.

Has anyone been able to find or order this sticker? Any luck with the MINI dealerships?
