The Official: My MINI Made Me Obsessive Compulsive Thread
Anyone else develop OCD due to the fact that you just can't: keep the dust out of those areas under the air vents? keep the dust off your dash? get your wheels clean enough? keep enough wax on the paint? get the chrome polished enough?
I love washing my car, it is a nice way for me to relax, but I am sure my neighbors either think I have 5 MINI's that are exactly the same that all need washing
or the truth....I have a MINI case of ODC!

Got home last night and thought, "just a little QD to freshen Matilda up a bit".
An hour later, after wheel brake dust, boot brake dust, doing the trim and then doing the tires, oh and the QD of course, I finish in the dark. Rained last night so I'm thinking this morning "just a little QD to freshen Matilda up a bit".
The boot drives me crazy, it get so dirty. And the wheels
!
I love my clean Mini

I now know that I am a complete "clean-a-holic". My proof would be spending over an hour on sunday washing my Mini in the 100+ temperatures here in LA. Wow, that was a lot of work, but worth it. And don't worry, i did it in the shade.....but it was still 100.

I only wash my cars in my garage...it serves 2 purposes:
1. Keeps it in the shade so the sun/wind doesn't dry it before I do
2. Keeps my garage floor squeeky clean, I just squeegy the water out when I'm done!

No kidding!! I just told my wife I want to epoxy coat the garage floor, and she said "since when do you care?"
Since I am picking up my dream car in 2 weeks... duh!!

plastic down the side on the floor to control the drainage?
if i had a 3 car garage, i would dedicate one bay for washing and
working on cars. until then, i'll have to wash on the driveway and
roll the car inside the garage to detail.
two words:
"brake dust!" ack!
i dont know if its just me, new pads, or different wheels, but i seem to get tons more brake dust on my 06 MCS than I did on my 03 MC. any reasoning behind this observation?

I move one car out and park the one being washed in the center of the 2-car side of my garage, which is 3-car, so this gives me plenty of room to wash it w/o getting things wet.
I also do all my detailing in the garage, door down, fluorescent lights on!!!
