Polishing steering wheel center cap scratches

Like all the 2 spoke wheels, my center cap has taken a beating, I had noticed more and more scratches of the last year or so and the other day, I was at a stoplight and the sun hit it and I realized that it actually looked terrible.

This weekend, I waxed the car and on a lark, hit it with some NXT (basically what was left on the sponge applicatior after finishing) for maybe 30 seconds and there was quite a difference.

I had been afraid to use Scratch-X on it before but had used a little earlier in the day on a scratch on the bumper right at the bottom of the boot. Realizing that the Scratch-X was not that aggressive after wearing my arms out on the bumper, I went for broke and hit the cap with it. Probably for 1 minute or so, with just a little bit (half a dime size).

I wiped it off and then hit it with NXT Again for a few seconds and it looks amazing. Not brand new, but maybe like it looked after 1 month which is a 10x improvement over earlier in the day.

For all those with this problem who were afraid to use anything on it, don't be, I just downt see how you can screw it up if you are slightly careful.

I wish I had take before and after pics, but this literally took me 5 minutes and I was done before I thought about it.

I would also recommend Plexus which lightly polishes and protects plastics, works great on all the instruments and should work on the steering wheel as well.
