Dusting????

I'm worried about dry dusting my MC.I have a California mitt.Seems to work well without scratching, but now it is well seasoned, and looks dirty to me.Do I wash it,get another,or maybe get a wash mitt, natural, and use that.
I have lots of dust, like every day.I wash it off if it rains,or condensastion sits on the car overnight.
I don't see scratches from it,but nor do I want to.
On a side note.I clayed and waxed my car 2 weeks ago.
I did a test tonight.Ran my fingers over my MC,my old truck, some new cars.My old truck lost, the new cars felt ok,but my 2 year old, pampered, clayed, waxed, and dusted MC felt like, well its hard to explain, but"like glass" is only close

Lot...glad to hear Poco is lookin' so good!!!

I have the same question about dusters when they look a bit soiled. I have the OXO duster ('cause it matches my IB MINI!! ). I shake it out as recommended but it is, with time, looking a bit dirty. I still dust with it, but I am very gentle and go over places two or three times lightly rather than once with more pressure. (I think that's a good approach even with a brand new duster.)

It's really amazing how much dusty crap falls out of the sky. On weekends I'll dust 4 or 5 times a day.....even more on the boot!!!!!

The dusters actually tend to work even better the "dirtier" they get up to a point. You can't wash them. I have a CA duster that is a couple years old and still working well. The trick is to shake them out often to get rid of loose debris that might scratch. Just because they look dirty is ok. The older they are the less wax residue they leave behind. As mentioned, use lightly and they work wonders.

Thats my understanding as well. that they work better when they look dirty. I have had one for a couple of years and looks dirty and still works great .

I view a light even "dusting" of dust as beneficial -- less UV strikes the paint!
