How to remove scratches from the black bumper trim?

Less than 2 weeks old and someone nicked MINI in a parking lot. And I have been really dilligent about where I park. I garage park at home, so it had to be someone I work with.

Anyhow, there are some minor scratches on the black bumper moulding on the front passenger side. Wondering if you can buff them out at alll? There's no paint on there, just rough plastic.

Any advice appreciated!

Carol

Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer

I would use Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer for Black plastic trims.
It doesn't remove scuff marks, but it makes less visible, I saved many trim damages with this product at C3 detailing party

Its hard to find this product, but it doesn't cost much, I believe $3 or so.
Just put it on yellow pad, and apply to plastic.

I would second that, and since you're in San Diego, I would get over to a Meguiars Open Detail Clinic since they usually have the products on sale, and it's the best way to acquire some of the hardest to find products! We're going to one tomorrow, but class is already filled. Check out www.Meguiarsonline.com for info. I think there is an April class coming up.

Carol:

If you can't remove the scuff marks and looking at them annoys the heck out of you, then I recommend replacing the damamge plastic trim piece. These pieces are not expensive and are easily fitted. talk to your dealer's parts counter dept.

Just a thought, many have recommended a spoon to smooth out scratches on the interior plastic. It's not much different, worth a try.

Thanks, I'll give that a try on some scuffs on my passenger-side wheel spats.
