Problems with polymer in Zainos??

There has to be a thread discussing this, but I haven't seen it anywhere.

Has anybody had a problem with touch-ups to paint or spot repair, etc. after they applied zainos? Any fish-eyes in the paint, etc. I know this is only a problem if you need to add paint later, but I would just like to know before I place my order for Zainos.

Thanks for your help!

I've never had a problem with touch-up paint sticking. I generally have the nicks filled in before Zaino-ing, so if there is a fresh chip that happens after I Zaino-ed, there is no Zaino in the chip.

I also clean out chips with a fiber-optic pen that I bought several years ago. It works like a tiny little scouring pad to scrub away rust and bits of dirt and wax in the chip. This would also scrub away the Zaino that might be in there as well.

I would think that the solvents and sanding processes used to prepare large surfaces before painting would remove the Zaino, but I have no experience with that.

No, there is no issue with it at all.

There is a problem with silicones because they migrate and cause the fisheyes. Zaino has ZERO silicone.

Oils and fillers also move on the surface and do not allow paint to bond. Z2 has no fillers.

Interested in more information on the pen. What does it exactly do and where do I find. Thanks in advance.

I had to do a bit of searching as it wasn't "Fiber Optic" it was "Fiber Glass". It hit me when I remembered getting some of the little fibers imbedded in my finger... just like when 'glassing an old fiberglass boad I had years ago.

This is the exact kit that I bought at an autosupply years ago (pen, sanding block and magic fluids included).

I've also heard good things about the Langka kit for repairing scratches.

Good luck!
