Salt on Plastic

I am wondering if anyone else has noticed what seems to be road salt that is attaching to the plastic trim on the car. It looks like what happens when idiots wax their plastic. I'm pretty sure its salt, as the car is new as of 2 weeks and I certainly haven't been out waxing in the Chicago winter.

How the hell can I get this crap off?

Yep, the salt residue is embedding into the texture of the porous plastic. The best thing you can do is wash the plastic with a car shampoo or vinyl cleaner (40% off!) and then treat with a dressing of your choice.

YAY! I was above freezing and I had a chance to give MM2 a real hand-wash! He's Blue again!

(I just thought I'd share my moment of spring-time pre-detailing glory)

I wash my car twice a week in the winter, even below -40F,the wand wash I go to gives you some drying time. After I have used the hot air blower to dry out the window edges, door latches, wiper blade springs,I wipe down the plastic with detailing spray. It helps, but nothing like a good plastic treatment, that I don't have time to do in the stall. Can't wait for warm weather
