paint code

[size=2]Can anyone give me the correct paint code for the dark silver metallic paint. I have a 2004 Cooper s and I've had the painter paint the bumper twice and he is not getting the color rite off of the mixture.

My guess is that it is coming out a little light??? Almost like a cross between silver and dark silver?

I have had two seperate pieces painted D/S by two shops. One was the dealer designated shop. Both are too light.

No mine has very dark with a hint of purple. We pulled the code from the car under the bonnet next to the passenger side strut tower. is the paint code located somewhere else on the car. I looked on the door jam but did not see it.

To find the correct paint code, open the bonnet, on the right side above the windshield fluid reservor, there should be badge that says the color and have the paint code. This is where I obtained the paint code for my electric blue MCS. I painted the plastic intercooler cover, at first the color did not math the body color however after about a month or so the color matched perfrectly.

I was searching the net and found the paint codes for BMW/Mini and I see the same paint code is listed however there is a / 7 after the code. could that be a different mixture? By the way thanks for the info "greenphantom" that was exactly the location I found the paint code....

That is were the paint code is,mixing small batches of paint can be tricky, when you have to deal with less than a teaspoon of tint it gets hard to hit it right on.Paint matching is part science, part art.
