Headlight tint
Why would you tint a headlight? Oh yeah... Look cool..till you are in a ditch wrapped around a tree...
Sounds like a downward spiral....you tint your headlights...they put out less light...so you get brighter bulbs...that heats up your tint and lenses...maybe melting them....
You try tinted/coated bulbs if you just want a slightly colored light? Not ideal...but less risk of cooking a $$ headlight housing.

i got some from the ebay. its fairly easy to work with, just be patient, use a hair dryer, and make sure your lights are very very clean!!!
i also did my tail lights too. i used the black tint, say vs matte black (although that does look cool).
zippy, having had my headlights tinted for a couple years now, ive yet to "wrap my mini around a tree"... and i can see just fine at nite thank you very much! lol
and it DOES look cool too!

If you must...for vinyl look at Lamin-X you can get different amounts of tint and thicknesses (to protect the headlight from road debris) http://www.modbargains.com/lamin-x-h...ini-cooper.htm
Or completely removable is the Smoke color from DYC and cover it with glossifier (not as pretty looking but completely reversible) Works like any other Plastidip product.
Either way I say no to lessening the amount of light output, front or rear.
