Well I'm done

I'm done! Less than three hours too!

So I got a wild hair up my....tailpipe...and decided to clean up the exterior a bit. In that time I was able to wash, clay, polish (3x) and wax the entire mini. Unfortunately I didn't take any before pictures bc I was trying to beat sundown (failed by like 10 minutes). More to follow in the morning but here's what I've got now. You can see some of the swirls left by the dealerships "detail guy" (amateur ::nose up: in the rainy picture in the door (diagonally from the door handle. They were also present on the passenger side pretty bad but I can't find pictures of that at the moment.)

Also attached is some pictures of the "during" phase of the clay process. It was in direct sunlight which was not my favorite thing but oh well.

More in the morning. For now I'm happy with how it smells and feels. Seriously it's slicker than fresh goose poop.

That was quite a swirly job they gave you! Glad you could correct it.
I've learned to never let anyone else wash/detail my MINI... or any car I own, unless they are a professional with references.

Well here it is in the sunlight. I have a few places that need to have a MF towel run over them to remove the wax but overall it's wonderful. Who doesn't like a reflection shot?

I've argued with myself about whether or not those swirls were intentional. I finally decided they were not because nobody could be that malicious.

Nice!

Having a freshly detailed car just feels great. Plus, during the rainy season, a freshly detailed car will just toss off all the water drops with a little spirited driving. Almost like a mini car wash

I'm pretty sure a biblical amount of rain is due after all that work. Last time I wash/clay/polished my last car we got a tornado here in Oklahoma.
