Though I'm still very much a student of the detailing arts, it is evident that people use Detailing 101 forum to find stuff that WORKS, for takin' good care of their machines...

This post is to both praise & recommend (no ladies n' gents he's not a shill, just a happy customer) Meguiar's #40 (which brought 1993 Toyota interior vinyl Back To Life) and Eagle 1 Trim Restorer, which rejuvenated those stupid black bumpers on several vehicles very satisfactorily. Side comment: I'm partial to metal/chromed (like my old '71 Super Beetle) or metal/painted (like my old '67 VW bus) bumpers... guess I was born too late...

Also, I'm not a huge Eagle 1 fan, (mostly cuz I found other things which served well enough, before I got round to trying the Eagle1 stuff), but if you're at the car parts store ANYhow, immediate availability off-the-shelf is a good thing. Side comment #2: I was buying bulbs for license plate illumination and side indicators, NOT "bling" stuff - I'm forced to be frugal, *sigh...

As for Meguiar's, I've tried Scratch X too, and I guess it is for more superficial scratches than mine - it seemed to sort of work, (for a while, if you looked at the scratch in the right light)... but their #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner is a worthwhile investment indeed.

Side Comment #3 last one: Do you suppose these two items are the same chemicals in a different wrapper?? I read in a different thread (see, i DO use search lol) where someone had covered up wax which had gotten on their exterior black trim, using "Vinyl & Rubber" stuff... hmmm

I can't wait to see what's for dinner when Missus Tatt sees the sparkling Caravan interior!
