I have owned a number of BMWs over the years and now getting a Mini Coupe here soon. All my previous BMWs have gotten scratches and scuffs on the underside of my steering wheels (fingernail scrapes and other sharp things) and I never found a way to fix those. Advice is greatly appreciated!

 

There is really no way to fix them as the leather is now damaged. You can really only lessen their appearance. Try using a two-step cleaner and conditioner like Lexol, Leather Master, Leatherique, Griots Interior Cleaner followed by their Leather Care, etc. Those will give the best results and the have the best chances of softening some of the roughed edges of the scuffs/scratches and while they won't go away, they will certainly be less noticeable. If you have severe scrapes, you may want to look into some of the vendors here that have sell the custom leather wraps for your steering wheel. It'll look and feel better than the stock wheel and they aren't nearly as expensive as a new wheel.
