Show Us Your Detailed MINI

Lets get a thread going for us to post pictures of our freshly detailed MINIs (or minis)! Theres been too many questions and not enough pics around here latley

Don't forget before and afters, those are the best!

PS If there is already a thread like this I couldn't find it, point me in the right direction if there is.

I'll start, and this is by no means recent, mine is covered with tons of tar at the moment

Not a great pic or a nice camera, just my cellphone cam.
I'm waiting for my detailer to get me the photos he shot when he was done.

Few days later after it got Opti Coated...

The timing of this thread is perfect - just did a quick detail on both of the MINIs this afternoon. (didn't do anything to the paint except wash/Hydro):

Looks great! The chrome grill really makes MIINs look classy.

great looking cars so far ...

what I would be interested in reading about is the sequence in which you detail the car.
wheels 1st, etc. etc.???

If I'm doing the interior, I do that first so the ground isn't wet while I'm getting into/out of the car.

Then clean/dry/dress under the hood, then wheels/tires one at a time, then wash the car, apply Hydro and dry, then the exterior trim and finally the exterior glass.

I do something very similar:
-Interior ( if I know I'm going to wash the car the next day I like to do this the night before to kind of make it a shorter day)
-Wheels/Tires
-Paint (top to bottom)
-Hydro
-Dry Paint, doorjambs, boot, bonnet, wheels
-Then I'll dress the tires, maybe trim and grills if they need it, exhaust tips (or tip in my case)
-Then glass

In fact I did all of this today, so here's two crappy iPhone pics, the second one I just thought was different.

Did my Get Ready Because Winter Will Be Here Before You Know It Detail over the past couple of days. PIC HEAVY

Not to bad from a distance...

Tar

Water Spots

Swirls...Oh My!!

And bugs too!

Floor mats need some work

Also needs a good helping of 303

Got plenty of Mystique, using Dawn today. lol

Random product shot...The bugs-b-gone doesn't do much at all, but just going to finish off the bottle, simple green for the tires, and Sonax for the wheels. I only use the Sonax when I haven't been able to wash it as often as I like too, but it sure does work great.

My wheels are bleeding ahh!

Break dust. Gross!

Incase you wondered what the tarp was for, I wash in the garage when I don't have any shade (which is any time before 4:00) and it keeps all the water in one place. Very handy actually, and of corse I stole the idea from Octaneguy.

Then the water just flows out the front

When I'm done this is what I'm left with

One of my helpers, the other one is hiding around back because the hose is out. lol

After it's all clean you can see the swirls

Claying the back window.

Traminator in action

This is what was left

Then to this, what's left are chips. Wish I would've gotten clear bra when I had the chance

5 Points if you know what's in the bottle.

Here's a hint

Wax on

Wax off

Just a tease, I haven't had time to take some good ones yet. She does look nice, and should after 2 straight days of major detailing.

My steps were:
Wash with dawn, 2 bucket plus grit guards, lambs wool wash mitt
Dry with waffle weave towels and aircompressor
Tires- Simple green, then Extreme Shine
Wheels- Sonax, followed by Wheel Armor, and Hydro
Tar removal done by Tarminator
Removed old wax with Alcohol
Exhaust tips with an Eagle One metal polish, not a fan but using it up
Did the grill with Adam's In and Out Spray, love that stuff
Clay- I forget which brand, I just know It took along time to get off the tar that wouldn't come off with Tarminatior or WD40
PreWOW and BlackWOW on all the plastic on the outside.
Swirl
Amigo
Epic, 2 coats
Banana Gloss
Hydro
Clarity on the windows
303 on everything inside
And a little Febreez just for kicks!

I'll post some better after pics in a couple of days assuming it doesn't rain before then!
