thanks ladies! I will probably be only adding small touches now. I am waiting for my black-jack rug to come for the door, and my parking sign. I was thinking of putting some small things on the red wall, like a couple of MINI posters, or a stainless steel shelf to display some MINI models or other MINI-items.

Annette-I was really admiring that racing decal that is on your wall. May I ask where you got that and how is it mounted? Did you stick it to the wall?

Kathy- thanks! I was so glad to finally park Ladybug in the garage again this morning after her bath. I felt guilty keeping her outside while we painted and laid the tiles, but I think it was worth the wait.

wpb, which decal?

Oh, and where did you find a black jack rug???? Would love to have one since one of my rugs is about to give it up.

That looks great! I was wondering approximately how much did it cost? Also what is the transition piece like for entering the garage. Is it angled like a wedge? Are you able to post a closeup photo.

Thanks

I'm guessing you mean the checkerboard border. It's just a wallpaper border I got it at Lowe's but then when I needed more (one of my rolls got damp and had to be thrown away) I found Lowe's didn't have it anymore so ordered in online from Amazon. There are 2 basic types of this border one with all complete squares and one with partials on top and bottom. Here's a pic of what I got(the partial) I liked it better for some reason. It is 3.5 inches wide.

And here's the link to buy it.
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Checkere.../dp/B0017OC4WA

Here's a pic of the one with full squares: It is 4 inches wide.

And the link to buy it:

It was very easy to put up. I did the whole garage in less than an hour. I got an extra couple rolls in case and may use them to make a border around a shrine for El Kabong .

thanks for the link. I was curious about the "65" round decal that is in your picture, way up high. It looks like a car decal to me.

I ordered the rug custom from Vision Bedding, an online place that converts digital images into all sorts of things. You can supply your own image, or you can choose from one they have in stock-

thanks! My 5 year old boy announced it as soon as he saw her, and my 10 year old daughter agreed! I can hardly speak of her without calling her by her name. Funny how a car can do that to people, right?

Hi Rixter. Our type of tiles cost $2.79 per square foot, so for us, it was somewhere about $1300 total. My husband is a member of the Garage Forum, and I think he was able to get a slight discount off the regularly advertised price when he called the Race Deck number listed on their website. The individual square tiles measure about 2 ft. square. All the square tile pieces snap together through small "teeth" that stick out of the bottom of the tiles. The transition/edging pieces are rectangular in shape, measuring about 2" x 4" or so, and have a very slight, somewhat curved incline so that the tires roll onto the other tiles smoothly. I don't have a closeup pic now, but I can take one when I get home.

Rixter: I am not able to get a good quality picture of the edging pieces. (We used all the pieces we had, and I tried to take a shot of one installed on the floor). But, if you go check out the site, http://www.racedeck.com/circletrac.html, you will be able to see the edging pieces that go with the "circle trac" floor tiles we got.

wpb mini, I'm sure you already have this, but just checking. It's from gobadges.com.

Hi Annette,

That is such a cute one. Thanks for thinking of me. I actually don't have that badge. I wanted to get it right after I got Ladybug, but I wound up getting the 2 others I have because my kids said that the ladybug badge was too "girly" for me. So I got the checkerboard badge and a red badge with an eagle on it from gobadges.com instead. (see below). The eagle reminded me of the old German flag, and since I am 1/2 German, I thought that would be a good second badge.

Anyway, I do have a ladybug antenna that I was going to put on tonight, so your post is funny, timing wise. I may have to get that ladybug badge after all!

Anyway, I hope you are liking Mozart! Are you going to get him some badges?

thanks again and have a great weekend!

wpbmini, GoBadges will be a vendor at the Dragon this year, so I'm planning on buying 1 or 10 . I have my old grill badge holder from El Kabong, but the Gobadges holder with the black frame will suit Mozart a bit better I think.
The Dragon this year is going to be costly, SOOOO many great vendors.
