Help needed for OCD car washer

I am unable to get through the weekend without washing my car. I just cannot resist the urge to keep my MINI Clubman as shiny as she can be! Help! My neighbors (and possibly family) think I'm nuts, no doubt. Any other people suffering from this disorder?

Of course, but you're in the wrong forum. Go check out Detailing 101 to find where all of us OCD'ers hang out.

Washing your car to keep it clean and shiny is great! Just make sure you're doing it properly so you're not dulling your finish over time.

I try to wash mine weekly. I have a couple of neighbors that do so religiously. So long as you maintain a good wax interval, there is no harm. Maybe they are not just as appreciative of their vehicles.

No problems with that...!

Just make sure to use the right products (no dishwasher soap!)

As long as you aren't washing it in a snow or sleet storm risking hypothemia at night, you probably don't need keepers yet.

whew!

thanks guys . . . I'm feeling a little better now. I am glad I am not the only one out there like this . . . And, to MINI33342 and OctaneGuy, I use only Zaino or Mother's products, so I think I'm OK.

I park my beloved MCS in My garage and I still clean it once a week. A matter of fact I wash all my vehicles once a week. It is a part of my insane (OCD, ADHD) Routine.

When my 2003 MINI was new I would wash or clean up to three times a day-
once in the morning before driving, once in the day usually after coming home from driving, and once at night before closing the garage door.

Sometimes I would settle for twice daily if it looked clean enough.

Disorder? OCD? Only if you take your time. I'm pretty fast and the MINI is thankfully small.

Now 7 years later I don't try to do as I did and I have other newer cars to care for. But I do clean up the MINI about once a week and before each driving event or car show.

I also like the Friday-after-work wash . . . Then if I need to apply a coat of Zaino or other detailing, she is all ready for me on Saturday!
