how to remove post-detailing sheen & greasy feel?

I took my car in for a wash at a decent local hand-wash place, and decided to go for the engine bay detailing service as well (48k miles of grime… it was really, really nasty in there).

When I got the car back, they had done the interior as well (it was a slow day and maybe they were bored?). So, now all the interior panels and surfaces have a nearly blindingly glossy sheen to them… as well as a greasy feel to the touch. It's not excess "stuff" (don't know what it was they had used) because I wiped everything down as best I could and it didn't get any better. They seem to have just used some product that appeals to people who want everything turned up to 11 (I don't, really).

What is an effective and safe way to remove this post-detailing sheen without doing any harm to the panels?

Sounds like someone turned the Armorall dog loose inside. Try a diluted (about 4:1) mix of Simple Green, or diluted dawn dish soap mixture. Then apply something like 303 Protectant for UV protection.

A much less aggressive way to remove the grease is our Leather and Interior Cleaner. It is safe on all surface from plastic to leather seats. It will return the interior back to the factory matte finish. Hope that helps!
