Cleaning in between chrome letters (Cooper S)

What is the best way to clean the grime from the inside of the chrome lettering (Cooper S) on the back of my car? I have tried Q-tips, foam padded detailing sticks and the tips of microfiber towels with not much success. I still have an edge of grime on the paint that I can't seem to get. Any suggestions?

Chad

I spray QD and use a long strand MF towel to dig the grit out.

Best solution is to take the letters off (de-badge).
Just my .02.

Btw don't use boars hair brush for this process as it will haze the paint.

I know cause I tested it under lighting and it definitely hazed the MINI's paint.

Chad,

That's easy - just use a soft natural bristle brush (see below) with some automobile soap and water! I use a soft brush that is for "brushing" down horses before putting on the saddle. This brush will cost around $10.00. Longer bristles work the best.

Oh... also get a stiffer bristle brush and that will work great on the black plastic around the wheel wells, front, and below the doors. It'll also do a great job on the tires!

When I wash my mini, I quickly go around it with a bucket of soapy water using the brushes on the mentioned areas before using the car wash - just takes a couple of minutes.

Try an old tooth brush. Soap up the area and brush away the grime.

this is exactly what you want to stay away from... boar's hair and horse hair is too hard for our paints.

I use claybar for between the lettering. I roll a bit into a point and then stick it between or inside the lettering, then agitate with light pressure.
