Detailed: MINI Cooper S John Copper Works!

With Adam's Polishes just becoming a new sponsor, I thought I would treat everyone to a detail write up on a pretty special Mini. This car belongs to a close friend of mine who is also a member here. The car was due for a end of summer detail with some minor paint correction. Hope you enjoy!

The befores:

I started with the interior first. The Mini was vacuumed with a MetroVac, then the entire interior was scrubbed and wipes down with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner. Protection was added with Adam's Leather Conditioner.

All weather floor mats were cleaned with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and rinsed.

Next was the engine bay and wheels. Engine was sprayed down with Adam's APC , then agitated with a Boar's Hair Brush and dried with the MetroVac.

Tires and wheel wells were sprayed with APC and cleaned with a Fender Brush.

Adam's Green Wheel Cleaner was sprayed on wheels. Rims were cleaned with a PowerStick and wheels/calipers with a Boar's Hair Brush.

Results:

The exterior was up next. All plastic trim was sprayed with APC and scrubbed with a Dressing Applicator. This set preps these surfaces for a coat of Adam's Super VRT later in the detail.

Adam's Foam gun time!

After a rinse down the exterior was completely sprayed with Adam's Detail Spray. This step help lubricate the paint for drying and neutralizes the water, preventing water spots.

Door jams cleaned with Adam's Waterless Wash.

Car was completely clayed including all the glass.

The swirls in the Pepper White paint were hard to photograph, but the black roof shows the paint condition well.

A Porter Cable 7424XP was used with a Orange 7.5" Adam's foam pad with Swirl and Haze Remover, then followed with a White 7.5" pad with Fine Machine Polish.

Results:

A coat of Adam's Premium Americana Paste Wax was added for protection and paint depth.

Interior painted surfaces were treated with Adam's Brilliant Gaze.

The cars trim was up next. Adam's water repellent Super VRT was applied.

All of the hard to reach area's were sprayed with Adam's In and Out Spray.

All metal surface were then clean with Adam's Metal Polish.

Glass was the final step. The glass inside and out were cleaned with Adam's Glass Cleaner and Glass Microfiber towel. The windshield was protected with a coat of Adam's Glass Sealant. This help the water bead on the glass to the extent you barely will every use your wipers in the rain again.

Hazing of product before it is removed.

And finally the "afters":

Cheers!

Phenominal! I'm already on the Adam's band wagon. Don't forget those wheel wells with the under carriage dressing.

I told you I'm on the Adam's wagon. I do need to get some of the In n Out spray, and a bunch of other stuff too. I guess the wife does need a birthday present instead though...

Do you not have to rinse off the all purpose cleaner when you use it on the engine?

Yes you do have to rinse off the All Purpose Cleaner. Sorry I did not show that step. Our APC is very concentrated so it does not need a long time to dwell to be effective. If you are using on the exterior paint, you do not want to let it dry because it will cause some streaking. Hope that helps.
