I think I want the clear coat
Well, I just Epic-ed my car again to protect the touchup paint job I did a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking that the wax would gloss up the new paint a bit, and I know I need to wait a few days for it to cure, plus I'll be adding a Hydro layer. But somehow I think there will always be a noticeable difference between factory paint and touchup for the larger areas unless I add a clear coat. The difference is mostly noticeable on the bonnet.
Not going to do it before the next Epic session in 6 months or so, but since OG doesn't believe in the worth of the MINI clear coat, can someone recommend another brand that would help the touchup look more like the rest?
thanks.

What you need to do to finish up the touchup is to polish it. It's most easily done with a PC, but because it's so small, you could rub it out by hand. A little dab or Prima Swirl or other hand applied paint polish will bring the gloss back to the paint after a few minutes of hand polishing. Then protect it with a wax.
Wax will enhance the glossiness of your paint, but if the paint is dull..look at matte painted cars, or consider a primer coat, or even a car with lots of bonded contamination that needs to be clayed first, adding a wax isn't going to make it more shiny. You need to finish/correct the paint first, then protect it with a wax.
In the same way, you need to finish the touchup before waxing it.
