Black Wow Question

I was cleaning my new car the other day, applying BW. Can BW be used on rubber and vinyl gaskets or just on plastic. I want to use it on my top gaskets. Yea or ney?

I'm guessing that by "Gaskets", you are referring to the moisture seals like the ones around your windows, etc, and I don't think BW is necessary in that case. Just keeping it clean works pretty well for me.

As for your top, I would say definitely not to use BW. There are lots of good top cleaners and conditioners that are actually designed for this purpose, and get really good reviews. Take a look at http://stores.detailersparadise.com/...Categories.bok for example.

I would be interested in Octane Guy's response to this question!

I recommend using a sham wow when doing this.

I use it on the black trim around the perimeter of the roof. I haven't used it on the rubber gaskets (around doors etc) I like 303 for this application.

BW was intended for exterior plastic though it has found many uses on the interior as well when applied properly.

It wasn't designed for rubber and has a tendency to not last as long as typical trim products. Prima Nero or Wizards would be good products for the rubber seals. On the top gaskets, I'm assuming you're talking about the part that surrounds the portion of the hard top that meets with the convertible top? BW can be used here, but it's not the ideal product for this application.

Thank you all, I get more edumacated as I are older!! It is for the gaskets / seals that surround the folding hard top on a 3 series BMW. I still come back here for the best advice on line. I'll keep it on plastic.
