Grill detailing

i was wondering if anyone out there has any tips or tricks for detailing the front and rear honeycomb grills. i can get the water out no problem after a wash, but the never seem to look as good as the rest of the car. any advice would be appreciated

I periodically treat them with Black Wow with swabs... I pain in the rear, but lasts a long time and looks great.

When I'm lazy but they're not looking great, I spray them with Adams' Undercarriage Spray - which can be easily wiped off surrounding paint and it dries to a nice flat/satin black, but doesn't last nearly as long as a Black Wow treatment.

I blow the water out of my grilles with compressed air - much easier to get the car dry without drips and runs this way.

I have some of this:

that I bought at the suggestion of OctaneGuy. It works well for those hard-to-get areas. Once or twice a year I also go at them with Black Wow and a q-tip...but this trim spray is a lot easier for the weekly washes.

doh, for a second i got excited that someone was going to wax their BBQ grill like how i wax my winking red trash can. was like, it gets hot so you want to use
polymerwax.

i use Nero and just spray it on, work it in with a MF
towel, let the rest air dry, but for dd's i'd try the
OGML recommended trim spray above.

Yeah...I did mine with Black Wow using a flat blade screw driver and a piece of terry cloth. You might find one of those small foam paint brushes that will just fit into the grid openings. That's what I will try next time. The whole process is a PIA but the good news is that BW will hang in there and you shouldn't have to repeat it too often.

BTW...I've got some Banana Gloss on the way. Gonna give it a try. First experience with Prima.

i just realized i used polymer and wax in the same sentence. bad kenchan bad.

like saying engine motor.

i dont think i have the time to sit there coating each honeycomb wiht a q-tip
these days...i tried that with another product long time ago before BW was
in existence...

man it took forever... reminded me of helping my pops
do brinks along the side of the house over 15or so years
ago.

One of my prof's had a term for that, he used to write DRD in the margin of my papers and it meant "Dept of Redundancy Dept"

actually no, polymer is not wax. carnauba is wax.
polymer is a sealant. this is not DRD, it is MSD.

make sense doesn't.
