Jet Black owners: Have any of you used this stuff?
Jet Black owners: Have any of you used this stuff?
Hey guys, has anyone here used this stuff?

I have lots of scratches that are down to the primer on my rear bumper, and a few on my doors. I'm sure this isn't the best wax ever, but I do like the idea of filling the scratches, at least temporarily. Opinions?

I've used Turtle Wax before - a chip stick and black wax. This looks a little more advanced. At least they are using carnauba wax this time! I always love Mother's Carnauba wax, but it comes in white so it shows up all the rock chips, etc.
To date, those products on the market, including this one, that are described as being for a specific color are really just your regular non-color-specific filler/concealer types of products. In other words, the fact that it's made for black really doesn't make a difference. The dye that they use in the products is very temporary and primarily just for marketing- so you see the color as you use it.
Does that mean it doesn't work? No... these products will still fill and conceal for you... it's just that they aren't doing anything specific to your black paint. It will work as well as any other filler/concealer product, not specific to black, that Turtle Wax sells*.
I wouldn't say that it's a marketing lie... just one of those times when they give the impression of an exaggerated truth.
So, on the one hand I would say to go ahead and use it because it will likely fill and conceal some of your super fine imperfections for, maybe, a week or two. However, it will not fill and conceal scratches that are down to your primer (other than possibly for a couple of days due to the temporary dye they add to the product). These scratches are far to serious for any chemical fix, unfortunately.
If the scratches are truly all the way down to the primer then your only solution is touch-up paint or getting the area repainted. Sorry!
I wish I could tell you there was an easier way.
(*by the way, if you do needa product that will fill and conceal the super fine imperfections in your paint, Prima Amigo, Prima Hydro or Prima Banana Gloss will each be more effective and much longer lasting than the system you've referenced)

To be honest, I think I just really liked the idea of buying a well-packaged wax system just for black cars!
In the end, I think I will be much better off spending the $20 on the claybar my finish desperately needs first... perhaps I'll splurge on the Prima (which I've definitely been salivating for) in the fall ...thanks again! Vendor & Moderator :: MINI Camera and Video & c3 club forum

They used to carry clay..not sure if they still do.
