PC - variable speeds?

Since the weather has finally warmed up some, I finally broke out the pc I bought myself for xmas. I could have swore that when I read the description at Detailer's Paradise (I got the pad/pc combo), it mentioned the pc was variable speed. Does this mean I can adjust the speed of the pc or does it mean the pc spins at different speeds randomly? Unless I was just completely oblivious to it, I didn't see a dial that would let me adjust the speed...

I'm confused!

If it is a Porter Cable (PC) it does have a speed adjustment.

I ordered the Porter Cable 7336 from Detailer's Paradise. I guess I should check that is actually the model I recieved.

Where do I look for the speed adjustment? I wouldn't think it would be that hard to find...

I only saw an on/off switch.

Here's a picture of the switch on the 7424. I think the 7336 and 7424 only differ in the size of the backing plate and the counterweight, so the switch should be in the same location on both models.

Yep there are no physical differences between the two in terms of speed control.

Thanks for the pic. I will have to check it out when I get home...I don't know if I looked down by the cord.
