Use of Velcro for Plate Mounting
Use of Velcro for Plate Mounting
This might be the wrong forum, but I thought it bes to ask those who care most about the appearance of their Mini.
I got a vanity European tag and mount from my family from Christmas, and I am trying to figure the best way to mount it. I searched around the forums, and some people mentioned using industrial strength velcro, thus no drilling.
Before I go this direction, could you all tell me if one this idea will work as a long-term solution (I really don't want to run this plate over a few weeks down the road (I do alot of highway driving (70+)), and if I decide to change how hard is it to remove the old velcro? I figure goo-gone would work, but do not want to damage the finish of the car at all.
Thanks in advance.

i would use 3M exterior mounting tape, but i have never mounted a
large plate like that on my cars...so use at your own risk.
if you have a non-factory painted aerobumper though, i would not use
anything too adhesive cause it can (probably will) tear the paint off
the bumper when you peel off.

+1 I have used that tape to hold moldings, spoilers, all kinds of stuff, and it will come off when you want it to.
How about a tow-hole plate-mount, if you have a 1st gen.
