Porter Cable DA vs Var Speed DA palm sander
I've been reading about the various dual action polishers such as the Porter Cable, Meguires, and Griot's. And now I have a question.
Would a variable speed dual action palm sander with a 5" inch hook-loop backing plate preform the same functions as say a PC, when equipped with the correct pads?
I have a DA sander that is rated at 4000 to 12000 opm. I've noticed that the recommended setting for waxing with a PC is at the settings of #3 to #4, which puts it in the 4000 opm range.
What would be the differences in the two machines?
