Prima Banana Gloss (aka Banana Gas) wax is almost here!!
Hey all, A couple days ago I ordered PrimaCare Epic, should I get the Banana Gloss instead? I have not received a shipping confirmation as of yet so maybe I could wait and switch it. What would be the pro's and cons between the two? Thanks
Great, another new thing to add to my order. At least I got all my questions answered on it
Mmmm, Amigo is good... wait, what's that at the bottom of the post. Sorry guys gotta go make some phone calls.

So how did this get its name? does it smell like bananas? Most prima products have edgy names...this doesnt sound as edgy...haha

oh man...I am just about to finally use hydro for the first time, over zaino , and plan to us it monthly as a booster....if using hydro this way, is there any advantage of the banana gloss instead of hydro (one advantage of the BG I know would be I could use it on a warmish winter day instead of waiting for a very rare 55+ degree day, but any other reasons to use BG instead of hydro?)?
On the evening of the shipment date, UPS automatically sends out a shipping confirmation to the email address we're provided by the customer. However, we've noticed that UPS emails seem to be getting stuck in spam/junk mail filters much more than our previous shipper (DHL). Unfortunately, I can't do anything to fix this because it is an email between UPS and the customer's email system. All I can request is that if you are anticipating a shipping confirmation email from us then try to check your spam/junk email filter folder as well just in case.
Of course, when in doubt you can always call or email us and request that it be sent again (although this time by us instead of UPS). We're happy to do so.
Regarding Epic vs. Banana Gloss...
As kenchan mentioned, Epic and Banana Gloss are very different waxes. The applied differences really depend on your personal style and desire.
Epic wax is an extremely durable synthetic wax/sealant which lasts 5-6 months and provides a glossy wet-look.
Banana Gloss wax is not nearly as durable but has other desirable attributes, such as containing some natural carnauba wax for a deeper warmer look and fillers to help hide minor imperfections (ie, super fine swirls, etc), as well as being super easy to apply... you can apply it in direct sunlight, freezing temps and it will not stain trim (Epic sometimes does and sometimes doesn't... you have to pre-treat any trim that Epic might stain so that it doesn't).
Some people will use just Epic for its durability and because they like the look. Some people will use just Banana Gloss for its ease of use and because they like the look. Others still will use a combination of the two (Epic then BG on top) for a combination of the advantages. (and others yet will use Epic a couple of times a year with a Hydro topper when the wash plus a coat of Banana Gloss when they feel like it too!)
There are chemical trade-offs in all products which create variety. This can be nice because no two people like the exact same thing or have the same application style!

Banana Gloss started out as Banana Gas because it smells like a very odd combination of bananas and gas (as in gasoline!). Before releasing it, we decided the Banana Gas name would likely confuse alot of people so we altered it to Banana Gloss. Many of our products do have strange names... most of which Nick thinks of on a whim as he's using it (or sometimes even in earlier stages of development).

BG is a liquid and needs to be applied and buffed/wiped off. Even though it is an extremely easy version of a liquid wax it still isn't as convenient as a spray, like Hydro (which can also be used as you dry your freshly washed car... again, for convenience). Yet, BG can be applied on paint that's been sitting in the hot sun for hours without any issues, as well as in near freezing temps.
BG has a warmer, richer look while Hydro has a wetter, glossier look. Banana Gloss also has a greater ability to fill/conceal minor imperfections (ie, fine swirls, etc) than Hydro. That said, Hydro is also a powerful filler/concealer itself... it's just not as powerful as BG in this category. I know most people who have tried both specifically for filling and concealing have found that both will beat out other similar products, yet BG will beat out Hydro for filling and concealing.
So, it really just depends on what you like/need and your application preferences.

Thank you, Heather.... this is a pretty tough crowd here on NAM. Nice to get a laugh every now and again.
By the way... for you OCDetailers who have not met Heather in person, she is as easy on the eyes as Amigo is on your MINI.

And there for a while, I was afriad you hadn't noticed, Paul.
I asked that question in a thread a week ago and got no reply. So, I'm not sure that's Mel at all. Just someone with a similar name and a PW/B MINI named "Clara". What are the odds ?!
I would think no, as it has carnuba as part of the blend. Probably would not take the heat. Better to use a wax made for wheels, like Wheel Shield.

Can't wait!!!
It was a ruse.
