Argggg! 1st Scratch
Argggg! 1st Scratch
Let me preface this with...if this is the wrong forum..sorry.
I know the 1st scratch is always the hardest to take, but it is inevitable. My wife was about in tears over a .020 wide x 1/4 long line on the front bumper of her new PW.
Any experts on touch-up painting with results that don't end up looking like a bumpy lump of glue? Instructions, or advice would rock.
Thanks.

I guess it's a modification...kind of.
If you can feel it with your fingernail it's past the point of easy repair.
Sometimes you can get the touch-up pain to match, use a tooth pick to apply the paint and try to press it into the scratch, and use the rest of the toothpick to remove the excess by letting th epaint adhear to the tooth pick, not wiping it away...it's a PITA to do..
if it's killing you, a body shop can clear it up for a few bills....if it's on the front of the car...consider the clear bra for the vehicle...$800 now will protect agaist rocks and scrapes.

use lots and lots of layers! i got two rock chips from a single pebble that came and hit my car on the highway...
ma gave me matching paint for my lb... just tell them your vin number. use just a little bit of paint for each layer and just build it up. DO NOT USE THAT SILLY BRUSH! it will look just like a 4 year old painting their nails for the first time... im sure your mini is younger than that but it deserves better!

I would except, the DC is being borrowed at the moment. It really is quite small and shallow, the layers procedure seems to be the way to go.
Thanks.
Thanks.
