Pepper White Woes
Pepper White Woes
Today was the BIG day! I was going to polish and wash Kirky after having watched Richard's DVD, read every thread on Detailing 101 and diligently practiced on a couple of cars.
Well... I ran into a problem that I am not sure how to solve. I can't see the polish! It blends in perfectly with the PW and even amigo (which I was hoping it would leave a nice gray patina) broke down to a whitesh layer that I could not see.
Epic is now curing on my test spot (I think).
Help!!!

Get your reading glasses on !!!
I don't know.... my eyes are not the best, I have 2.25 reading glasses and I can see the Epic Swirl, Amigo, and Finish breaking down on PW. Not as easy as the dark colors, of course, but not invisible.
Can you at least see the polish in the first couple of minutes with the buffer ? If you can... then you are obviously polishing long enough because you're breaking it down fully. Once you can no longer see it, stop.
Take your car back out into the sunlight or use a bright light to see if your test spot came out as hoped.

If you wipe your finger on a small spot, you should see that where you touched the paint is shiny compared to the dull haze of the product. I tend to look along the surface as apposed to straight at it to see the hazing.

Yes, I can see it when I first spread the product around but then it kind of vanishes unless I do some yoga moves to get the right angle.
The other two cars I practiced on were red and blue and I could keep on seeing the product even when it broke down to almost transparent.
I should probably add that I was polishing outside (in the shade).
