Back on the horse...
It has been a painful 7 months in college this year but I am finally back home with my baby. I was worried sick about how the car would be treated back home but after a full detailing last week everything turned out to be fine. I Epic'd it in late August hoping that it would protect the paint for a good part of the winter, which it seemed to have done.
I had a bad experience with Swirl the first time I used it last summer. I do not have a PC and I tried to Swirl the car by hand. After using the polish I put on the Epic and when I looked at it the next day there was a haze all over the car. I did not break down the polish enough...clearly.
This time I decided to use Swirl on the trouble spots only, which included the entire tailgate. There were these rust/resin looking spots all over which the claybar did NOT take off. I was hesitant to use the Swirl again but I buffed it really well and then went over the spot with QD afterwards. With some good elbow grease the spots disappeared. I Epic'd and presto- no more haze! It was nice to have positive experience with Swirl. So for any of you that are thinking of Swirling and want to do it by hand it will take a LONG time to get it done without a haze, and QD the area immediately afterward.
No all I have to do is get the wax residue off of the trim from turtle wax applied over a year ago (I know it should have been taken off already
). I've been looking through threads here to find the best solution...looks like PB or I Alc will work the best. Im looking forward to more detailing jobs over the summer. It feels great to be back!
